My son is home sick today, burning up with a fever but has been sleeping most of the day so far.
That has given me a pretty rare occasion of not going to work. Yes, in our house my husband is the one who often “gets” to stay at home when the kids are sick, because if I don’t go to work I need prepare lessons for my sub, and then when I come back, the things I wanted the kids to do most often didn’t get done, but I have tons of extra work. This week all my students are making movies in my classes, and they are doing really well, so well that I can hand over my job to a sub and not worry too much. Feels good being able to be a mommy too!
So while my son has been sleeping I have cleared out one of my cabinets where I have been keeping “thing that might be good to use at work”. One third is now left, but they are not work-related at all. One third is in the recycle bin, and one is in a bag that I will actually bring to work instead of keeping it at home, and then I may even use it!
During my clean-out i listened to this interview/pod cast with Joshua Becker, and I found it very interesting and inspiring. I will definitely check out more of his work later on.
But now I will read to my sick boy, and enjoy every minute of it!
